Biometa Finland Oy is seeking an investor/industrial partner for its novel biomass processing innovation, which converts farm organic side-streams into valuable bioproducts while mitigating greenhouse gas, chemical oxygen demand, and ammonia emissions.
- We have developed farm-scale bioproduct plant processing dairy manure. TRL of this concept is 6 at the moment.
- The core of the plant are our novel hybrid expanded granular sludge bed (HEGSB) reactors.
- This twin-reactor concept is estimated to be 70% smaller, 30% cheaper, 5 x faster compared to current CSTR-technology at 95% biomethane conversion efficiency. Processing temperature is +30 ℃. Hydraulic retention times (HRT) are 7 and 20 days for liquid and solids reactors, respectively.
- In addition to biogas, this multiproduct plant is designed to produce liquid and dry fertilizers together with sterilized manure bedding.
- According to simulations, the bioproduct plant can decrease a farm’s manure based GHG emissions by 87%, ammonia emissions by 50% and COD (chemical oxygen demand) emissions by 60%.
- We are looking for investor/industrial partnership to commercialize the bioproduct plant concept.
